CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who recently changed his mind about medical weed, has a weed strain named after him, for now.
Within 24 hours of the official press release being released, CNN contacted the Helping Hands Dispensary in Boulder, Colorado and requested that it stop the sales of the “Sanjay Gupta Kush” strain, ANIMAL has learned.
“We
may have to change the name,” owner Jeff Kless calmly told us over the
phone. “CNN phoned us and asked us to remove it. I think we’ll leave it
alone for the weekend and see what happens.” Kless alluded to waiting
for CNN to send a cease and desist.

The Sanjay
Gupta Kush is usually priced at $40 for an 1/8 or $13 a gram, but due
to their “Indica Friday” special, it’s only $35 for an 1/8 and $12 a
gram today.
According
to the dispensary, the strain, a modified organic Indica, was selected
due to its benefits for patients suffering from “pain, anxiety, low
appetite and those in need of both physical and mental rest and recovery
without heavy doses of pharmaceuticals,” the dispensary’s press release
informs. “Named after America’s favorite doctor and new ally of the
Medical Marijuana movement, we feel the time is right to put Dr. Gupta
into the world Cannabis library with a namesake strain!”
Get some Sanjay Gupta Kush while you can.
